6 Ways to Find Balance in Life

Feeling overwhelmed?  Don’t have time to accomplish everything?  Always stressed?  Give that up.  Below are 6 ways you can find balance in life and feel less stress: 

  1.  Make time for pondering and reflection each day.  Use this time to get yourself together, to think through what is really important in life – your priorities.  Review your goals, short and long term, and assess where you are in their achievement.
  2. Realistically plan and prioritize your day.  Don’t try to get too much done.  Leave time for spur of the moment items (but remember #3 below).  Then focus on one task at a time.  If you’re doing the most important things first, then the most important things get done. 
  3. Learn how to say “No” graciously.  Just because someone asks doesn’t mean you are obligated.  Learn not to over commit and under deliver.  Instead under commit and over deliver.
  4. Let others help.  You may be highly competent, but you should let others do things too.  Even though they aren’t ‘you’ they can still contribute and need to learn.  Let others carry their share of the load.
  5. Make time for service.  The best way to forget your own problems is to help someone else with theirs.  Your problems shrink when you help others with theirs.
  6. Focus on doing your best and be content with that.  If you’re doing your very best, things always work out. 

Enjoy life by doing less and savoring what remains more.  There is time, and to spare.  You just have to be a good steward of that time.
