Seasons of Our Success

Life is full of ups and downs. Mostly we seem surprised by it. Why is that? We know there are seasons to everything.

In the spring new life emerges bringing hope, warmth, growth and potential. Then comes summer and the earth brings forth lush greenery through to the dog days where things get hot and long. After comes fall and the harvest, where our efforts pay off and we should lay up in store for the winter. That’s when the cold sets in, the leaves fall, and the earth hibernates, waiting for the next glimpse of spring to surge forth new life.

If the earth goes through seasons, why shouldn’t we? Our success can’t always be constant. It goes through hot and cold as surely as anything else.

We begin with growth, new life and energy, then to the summer where growth takes root and flourishes through the long days and hard work. Finally comes the harvest where we enjoy the fruits of our labors. Last comes the cold, where the leaves fall and the harvest is ended. But spring always comes again and promises renewed growth.

Our lives are like that; cycling through growth and hibernation, challenges and a bountiful harvest (depending upon our efforts in the sowing). During times of growth and growing we should set aside for winter, so we can be at peace until spring and new growth surges again – as it surely will. Summer never lasts forever, but then again, neither does winter.

When the signs of spring come round, start your plans for new growth so you can flourish during the coming summer, and have a bountiful harvest in the fall.
